About This Service
Heating that warms every room, not just some of them
Cold rooms, radiators that are hot at the top and cold at the bottom, a boiler running flat out while the house never quite warms up. These are signs your central heating isn't working as it should, and the cause isn't always the boiler. Pipework, radiator sizes, sludge in the system and poor controls all play a part.
We look at your heating as one system, from the boiler to the last radiator, and put right what's holding it back. That might be one new radiator and a balanced system, or a full new central heating installation where the old system is past saving. Robert Hill & Co are central heating engineers based in Milngavie, serving Bearsden, Kirkintilloch and the surrounding area.
- Full central heating installations, including new pipework and radiators
- Replacement, extra and relocated radiators
- Thermostats, programmers, smart controls and thermostatic radiator valves
- Fixing cold spots, leaks, noisy pipes and radiators that won't heat up
- Boiler and hot water cylinder work as part of a heating upgrade
Older stone-built homes, 1930s bungalows and later semis each bring their own challenges, from pipework hidden under solid floors to narrow microbore pipes that struggle to feed bigger radiators. Because we also have our own electricians and joiners, the jobs that come with a heating upgrade, such as wiring new controls, lifting and relaying floorboards and boxing in pipes, are handled by one team rather than three different firms.

How a central heating job works with us
1. Tell us what's happening
Get in touch with what's wrong, whether that's cold rooms, a noisy system or plans for new radiators, and we'll arrange a time to come out.
2. We look at the whole system
An engineer checks the boiler, pipework, radiators and controls to find what's causing the problem, or what a new system needs.
3. A clear written quote
You get a written quote setting out the work, the parts and any electrical or joinery work involved, before anything starts.
4. Fitted, tested and balanced
We carry out the work, pressure test the system and balance the radiators so every room heats evenly.
5. Handover
We show you how to use your controls and leave you the paperwork for any gas work carried out.
Your central heating questions answered
Find answers to common questions about our services and process.
It depends on the size of your home, how many radiators you need, whether the existing pipework can be reused and which boiler suits you. Lifting floors in older homes or moving the boiler adds to the work. We price each job after seeing the property and give you a written quote before anything starts.
